Metal Slug 5 is a side-scrolling run-and-gun video game developed by SNK Playmore for the Neo Geo platform. The game’s protagonists, Marco Rossi and Tarma Roving, are members of the elite “Peregrine Falcons” military unit, who are tasked with stopping the plans of a terrorist organization known as “The Amadeus Syndicate” from using the Philosopher’s Stone for their own nefarious ends. However, the stone also has a dark side, as it corrupts those who use it for evil purposes. The game’s plot revolves around the discovery of a mysterious artifact called the “Philosopher’s Stone”, which has the power to grant immense wealth and power to whoever possesses it. Metal Slug 5 is set in the year 2032, after the events of Metal Slug 4.
